Our Mission At GMBJJ, we focus on traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi and No-Gi training for children, teenagers and adults. Our instructors are ready to help you achieve your individual goals, whether it is self-defense training, physical fitness or if you are wishing to engage in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition. At Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we strive to provide our student family with the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu education in a safe, positive, and uplifting environment.

Samuel Romanzo began studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1996 in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to Japan right after finishing college in order to further his study of the martial arts and once there was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which he began studying in earnest.

Upon returning to the United States, Samuel opened his first martial arts school in Chantilly, VA in 1999 and has been dedicated to teaching and training the martial arts ever since. He has run schools in Virginia and New York and has worked extensively with both military and law-enforcement personnel both in the US and the Middle East.

Along with 28 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, Samuel holds the rank of 5th dan in Tae Kwon Do and 2nd dan in Han Guk Mu Sool. Also he is a co-founder of a tactical training company, snstacticaltraining.com.

The focus of Samuel's instruction is to bring out the very best in each one of his students. Training with us is a way to improve your quality of life on multiple levels and have a great time while doing it. We look forward to seeing you on the mats with us!
